The story starts with a feather.
My parents met in a Chicago jewelry store in the early eighties. Years later, my mom chose a pair of carved feather earrings, and my dad gave them to her.
When I left for college, she gave them to me. I lost one. So I took a pair of wire cutters to the one that remained and turned it into a necklace. I wore that feather for nearly ten years.
Until 2014, when my dad and I designed a new version together. I've worn that one ever since. The feather has followed me through so many versions of my life.
In more ways than one, it holds everything I believe about jewelry: that what is old can become new again, and that the meaning something begins with can change as we carry it through our own lives.
That is why the feather became the emblem of SORRA - and why it sits at the heart of the collection.
The Feather

The feather represents becoming. Lightness, change, the freedom to grow into who you're meant to be. It's the emblem of SORRA and present in every intention, unchanged. The stone is the variable; it assigns your meaning.

How it's made
Carved, not cast.
Each feather is hand-carved from a single piece of natural stone, then set in solid 14K gold with a line of diamonds down the spine.
Because the stone is natural, no two are the same. The veining, the matrix, the way the light moves across it — yours will be its own.
